On May 20-22 this year, an international scientific conference entitled "9th International Seminar on Modern Polymeric Materials for Environmental Applications – MPM2026" was held at the Cracow University of Technology, along with a Special Session "Plastics in the Circular Economy" (more information: https://mpm2026.pl/ ). The Organizing Committee of the conference consisted of employees of the Department of Polymer Chemistry and Technology of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology of our University, members of the ICCE community.
During the conference, many lectures, oral presentations and poster presentations covered the broad topic of circular economy in relation to polymeric materials, including issues related to obtaining biomaterials, reuse of waste materials, mechanical and chemical recycling, as well as LCA analysis of plastics.
The conference theme is consistent with current trends in materials and technology research in the context of environmental protection and circular economy; experienced scientists and young researchers jointly search for solutions to complex, interdisciplinary problems from the perspective of chemists, technologists, engineers, physicists and specialists in the field of materials engineering.
