On September 15 of this year, a webinar titled "Interdisciplinary Approaches to Next-Generation Circular Economy"—organized as part of the MDPI Topics series—took place. The online event attracted over 100 participants from around the world.
Professor Krzysztof Pielichowski chaired the proceedings and introduced the topics of the presentations. Professor Izabela Czekaj, Head of the Scientific Research Team at the IC GOZ PK, presented a paper titled "Smart Molecular Design of Catalytic Processes for Biomass Valorization and Circular Carbon Economy." Professor Giovanni De Feo from the University of Salerno (Fisciano, Italy) discussed the bridge between the complex language of science and public education and awareness-raising, delivering a lecture titled "From Waste Management to Circular Economy: The Role of Environmental Education and Stakeholder Engagement." The final presentation, titled "Dynamic Data-Driven Process Optimization for Production Faced by Input Material Variance – Enabling Circular Manufacturing with Adaptive Manufacturing Using Industrial AI," was given by Professor Brian Vejrum Wæhrens from Aalborg University (Denmark).
The event aligns closely with our Centre’s activities and contributes to enhancing the unit's visibility on the international stage.
