We are pleased to announce that Prof. Piotr Duda, PhD Eng.— CE Coordinator at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Board Member of the CUT ICCE—is working within a large international consortium that has secured funding under the Horizon Europe programme. The ACCELERATE project will involve activities such as the non-destructive structural characterization of battery cell degradation processes using micro-CT imaging, the development of numerical models accounting for the bidirectional interactions between mechanical state and electrochemical degradation, the creation of algorithms to assess degradation, and analyses regarding their reuse in "second-life" applications.
